1, 2 or 3? Which Vegan treat would you choose?
🤤🤩😍
R & I officially have our tickets for next months @vegannightsldn and I genuinely can’t wait to try more vendors. So I thought I’d make a post from the last event.
Street food is such a guilty pleasure of mine …Throw a few pop-up stands near a street I’m in and I’ll be dragging R to go check out what’s on offer. It’s pathological 😂😂 Which is why I absolutely LOVE Vegan Nights on Brick Lane in Spitalfields!
These events set you up to be able to spend the late evening gorging yourself on delicious 100% Vegan vendors before the dance floors are opened and you can continue to dance the night away. Now, you know me, I’m 25 going on 60, so I’m on my way home by the time the dancing is in full swing. But trying new and exciting Vegan Vendors is more than enough to have R & I happy to return to the event repeatedly.
In fact, this blog post is a combination of items we’ve had during two separate monthly events.
What we ate:
.
🤤 The Bang Bang Jack fruit wings from @biffsjackshack
💷 £6 for 2, £8 for 3
👌The concept of these are super fun and I enjoyed the taste, however, I wasn’t ‘blown away’. I think the filling was possibly lacking a bit more of a smokey flavour for me, which is what I think of when thinking about wings. I would happily try their other flavour combos though!
.
🤤 Cheese Sticks from @mooshieslondon
💷 £7
👌 ooey gooey cheesy sticks. What could be better ?! This coconut based cheese is creamy with a subtle flavour. I’m a massive fan of coconut cheese so a big thumbs up from me. However, quite pricey.
.
🤤 Fresh pineapple juice w/ strawberry & lime syrup from @juicejunkiez
💷 £6 with £1 refills
👍I know this isn’t necessarily a snack but I LOVE these guys! They core the fruit in front of you, blend it up and offer you a choice of two flavours to add to your juice. With fruits including watermelon, orange, coconut etc… yum! My one note would be to bring your own reusable straw as the paper ones always tend to fall apart before we’ve been able to finish the juice 😫
.
🤤 ‘ Woodland’ pizza [ garlic oil, mushrooms, grilled aubergine, potato, garlic aioli, rosemary & truffle oil from @littleleafpizza
💷 £8.50
👍 I am kicking myself for not having tried these Pizzas before!! R & I bought this right before leaving the event so popped the slices into a cheeky Tupperware box to take home. If this pizza tastes THAT good after an hour getting smooshed inside an airtight tub then I can only imagine how it tastes fresh from the oven. Best pizza I’ve had in a long while!
.
🤤 Samosa Chana Chaat from @omkara_ldn 💷 £6.50
👌 The dish is made up of chickpea curry, sev, red onion, mint raita, red chutney and tamarind chutney and of course, the star, the samosa segments. R & I both loved this one! Packed a little spicy punch but all the elements came together wonderfully! I’d happily have this again!
🤤 ‘what the fudge’ Ice-cream from @getdappa
💷 £7 ( I think!)
👌 I’m not a fan of vanilla ( or what I call ‘plain’) ice-cream so I was never going to be absolutely blown away. But for what this was, it was lovely. You can tell that the ice-cream has a nutty base rather than dairy, but I find that to be super appealing. It’s rich and definitely adds flavour! Plus, who knew that popcorn could be such a great ice-cream topper 😛 Now give me some additional ice-cream flavours to try and you’ll officially win me over!
.
🤤 ‘ U want a pizza me’ cheese toastie from @heartmelttoasties
💷 £6.50
👍 With a tomato base, a mix of mozzarella & mature cheddar, chorizo & basil, I really wanted to be impressed with this 100% Vegan cheese toastie…. and I WAS! it was so good! so creamy, so cheesy, so delicious! R and I were both huge fans!
.
