What a way to spend a sunny weekend day @thecourtyardfulham for a 3-course Mexican feast, bottomless brunch!!
This cocktail bar with it’s tucked away courtyard is such a London getaway. walking into the courtyard I swear you’re instantly transported to a holiday destination! My wanderlust hit level 200 just being there surrounded by colourful murals, greenery galore, industrial hanging light fixtures and awesome music! ( lots of 90’s party bangers!)
Not to mention that all the staff were super friendly and attentive ( without being overbearing!). I don’t think Rhys ever had an empty glass for more than about 3 minutes at a time. ( and he was working away his drunken-ness well into the afternoon! :P)
Plus, even the upper-level indoor bar is amazing, with a ‘stranger things’ corner and lots of quirky decor like an indoor tree and ceiling adorned with painted doors!
For the food:
1st Course was a sharer:
🤤 ‘Nachos Supreme’ ( 🌱 Ve option available!)
👍 Neither R nor I have had more perfect nachos for a LONG time. the dish was MASSIVE and the ratio of guac, sour cream & salsa to nachos 👌 I’m dreaming of them even now!
2nd Course:
🤤 Vegetarian Tacos:
👍 Okay, confession time! I’ve never had hard shell tacos before. I don’t think I’ve quite come to grips with how to eat them. But even with 10% in my hair and 10% in R’s beard… what we managed to actually successfully eat was DELICIOUS. my Veggie tacos were filled with courgette, chickpea, feta cream, radish and balsamic glaze and they definitely don’t skimp on fillings.
Note* A Vegan option is available- A quinoa and sweet potato stuffed 1/2 avocado for an additional £3!!
Rhys had the Chicken tacos and was just as pleased with his. Although his chicken filling was extra juicy so was SUPER messy! Oh well, he was already 3 drinks in at this point so his caring level was at around 15% !!
3rd Course ( 3x Small Plates p/person- or you can swap out the plates for a dessert):
Okay, by this point, R and I were already FULL but we did our best to eat as much as possible! Which is easy when everything tastes so good!
I had:
🤤 Mexican Sweet potato fries
🤤 Chili n’ Quinoa ( Ve available)
🤤 Mexican chopped Salad (🌱 Ve)
R had:
🤤 Chorizo Stick ( Ve available)
🤤 Patatas bravas ( Ve available)
🤤 Jalapeno Poppers.
I possibly wouldn’t get the Quino Chili dish again, just because it comes with tortilla chips and feels a bit same-y right after the nachos. However, I was SUPER impressed with every other dish I tried. The Patatas Bravas were the winning dish for sure though. Perfectly seasoned, amazing sauces! Yumm! I could have literally gotten 3 portions of these and would have been happy.
PLUS – I did notice they have some cardboard takeaway boxes. Which is a massive plus since there’s SO MUCH FOOD! ( but in a good way, of course 😉 )
.
