Memoirs So Luciie January Favourite Finds
I always knew that when I started this blog I wanted to have monthly favourite’s posts. This’ll give me a chance to shout out about products, books, locations, experiences and etc that I really want to share with you, in one place.
As time goes on, I’ll probably have a lot more that I want to rave about but for the first post, I’ll keep it quite simple with just a few ‘favourite finds’ for January that hopefully, you’ll enjoy as much as I do. I really wanted to write these posts, more than anything, because I personally LOVE finding new brands and places and items to fall in love with and would love to hopefully help others find new favourites too.
I know for this month in particular, you may have noticed me mention some of these in my Instagram stories. If not- that’s what this blog post is all about!
I really think, as a blogger, that building a community is just as important as any other aspect so hopefully, these kinds of posts will let you get a bit more into my head, rather than just being an anonymous recipe creator/reviewer etc behind my screen. And I’d love you to share some of your favourites with me too!
Favourite Reading/ Inspo Find
I couldn’t write this post without mentioning Rucksack magazine. I actually came across this brand late last year because of a photography project I’m doing for my university. but I received my copy of their 1st Issue this January (which had a limited re-print as I’d missed it the first time around). Rucksack would be absolutely perfect for anyone who dreams of travel and adventure, who wants to climb the highest mountains and sail across the sea’s or read about and see photo’s from others who have done so. The visual narratives are spot on and I have found a LOT of new photographers to follow online through these magazines so far.
Note* The Journey Issue is Volume 2. The Winter issue is Volume 1.
Favourite Product find
Coconut & berries 40hr burning time candle – Illustrate MMXV
Although I’m focusing on my new candle here, this is actually more about the brand in general. I came across Illustrate MMXV at Winter Wonderland pre-Christmas but only made the leap to buy something this January. The candle itself is coconut & berry, 40hr burning time for £12, with a design I absolutely fell in love with from artist Chen Naje. What I really love though is that the candle is a Vegan candle using soy wax,100% plastic free. The jar is made from recycled glass and the lid is a bamboo etched lid.
The company themselves are an artists’ collective with multiple artists selling various products from prints to notebooks, postcards, clothing, candles, phone cases, water bottles. Even skateboards. And, every single product is created as sustainably as they can and at REALLY fair prices. I already have my eye on a few other items!

Favourite Foodie ‘item’ find
Rocky Road Bars – Mummy Meagz
What started as a way to say a big ol’ screw you to Piers Morgan, found on a FB vegan page, actually led me to a new favourite of mine ( if you have no idea what I’m talking about then you can find out more HERE). Mummy Meags rocky road bars are absolutely delicious! The mix of chocolate, super soft biscuit, marshmallows and flavourings are perfect and I actually struggle to finish one in a single sitting since they’re so decadent. The mint flavour is a new guilty pleasure!. At £12.95 per box of five, they are out of my usual very low student budget so with I’m so happy that I was able to take advantage of the 50% off. I only wish I’d ordered more to stock up!
Also, I had another peep at their website today and they have Vegan Creme eggs!!!

Favourite Recipe
Shameless self-promotion time! ;P I’m not sure if I should post one of my own recipe’s as well as an inspirational one. Let me know in the comments below if you have a particular preference.
This month I’ve had the chance to play around with quite a few recipes. Especially blood orange creations! From breakfast toast, Chia parfait jars and rice pudding. My absolute favourite, however, has to be these Vegan Blood Orange puff pastry ‘Pop tart’ bites though! The home-made blood orange and raspberry jam filling with a coconut & lime glaze are the perfect match. All with a lovely flaky puff pastry casing.

In the future, I’ll definitely be using these monthly posts to highlight my newest favourite ‘restaurants’ and foodie items around London too. Also, possibly, travel inspiration or recipe inspiration images from across the web. we’ll see!
Also, just a quick FYI. I’m not an affiliate for any item/ brand I’ve mentioned in this post. Just a fan! 😉
What are your favourite new finds for this month? I’d love to know!
Till next time,
